Remembering Passwords

I bought a new computer that has Windows XP Home Edition
installed on ig.

I have clicked for Internet Explorer and for Outlook
Express to remember passwords and have entered the user
name and password for my email accounts and several
websites.

BUT, the machine does not remember the passwords and I
have to input them every time I check mail on Outlook
Express and when I visit the sites that require passwords.

Why? Is there a global setting in IE Tools that I have
setup wrong?
