Remembering password

For some reason, my computer will not remember any
passwords when I use Outlook Express or Internet
Explorer. This is very tedious, especially when
downloading email, and having to type the password for
each account in every time. The Remember Password option
is always 'grayed out' (ironically with the box checked,
although it never does remember) and I can't find any
reference as to why.

If anyone has any tips for how I can get this option
active, I'd be very grateful!
