I find that a great many posts are made because people forget or don't
understand what a beta is. This is probably the the one group where the
testing is not done by invitation but simply by downloading and running the
product. When you encounter bug are you also reporting them to MS or only
posting in the Newsgroups? Of course there are problems and MSAS is not
touted to be downward compatible. I am sure that creates some of problems.

I am positive that MSAS has a timetable that they must adhere to and it
probably means that the things that will be incorporated into Beta 2 are
already planned. This was true with XP. Thats why there were 2 major
updates and fixes released. They don't always listen.

There is a timeline--this is a real product, and it needs to get finished
and released, even if it isn't a revenue producer directly.

They will continue to listen however. Every product has a lifespan, and
there's room for revision and tuning and change within that lifespan--as
well, perhaps, as a successor product.
