I run under XP Pro and use IE6 as my main browser. There is one particular
site for which Windows used to remember my password but does not do so now
that I have a new profile. I suspect that I told it at some point that I
did not want it to remember my password on that site and told it to remember
my answer. I now want it to remember that particular password. How can I
turn on "remember password" for that particular site?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Click on Autocomplete and make sure that
both "User names and passwords on
forms" and "Prompt me to
save passwords" are ticked

Hi,
Assuming that settings are correct in Internet Options> Content>
Autocomplete...

Download and run Protected Storage PassView v1.62 from
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/pspv.html Delete any entries related to that
site.

Plan B...
Try this from Robert Aldwinckle:
This *sometimes* works. Delete the Cookie associated with that page.
Then using AutoComplete for that userid delete that userid.
You will get a message to the effect that you would be deleting a userid
and password combination. This is good. Allow that. Now re-enter
your userid and password. Sign on. At this point you will again be given
the choice to save the password. One further wrinkle in this scenario
which I have seen is that the next time you try to use the "saved" password
you may not see any asterisks. Ignore that and pretend that you do see
the asterisks and assume that the password will be presented properly.
Try to logon. I'm not sure if eventually you do see the asterisks or not.

Plan C...
Clearing all passwords should reset the "Save Password" option. IE> Tools>
Options> Content> Autocomplete> Clear Passwords.

Protected Storage PassView will allow you to recover all other saved
passwords before clearing all saved login information.

Hope this helps,
Don

Thanks Don. This was very helpful (all of the Plans). Plan C worked for
me. But I have downloaded "Protected Storage PassView" too. Thanks again.
