'Remember Password' doesn't work...

When I use Outlook Express I have to provide my password
each time I connect to a server. I have provided my
password to the 'Properties' tab in the 'Accounts'
selection of the 'Tools' menu on Outlook Express, and
I've clicked the 'Remember Password' checkbox. I've also
tried to check 'Remember Password' on the password dialog
when connecting, but the 'Remember Password' check
is 'grayed-out'. Any ideas, anyone?
