Remember each folder's view settings

In the Windows Explorer, under Tools/Options/View, I
understand there is a problem with "Remember each
folder's view settings" after it is used many times. It
doesn't work on my computer any more.

I understand there was an article in one of the computer
magazines that explained a fix for this involving the
Registry. Does anybody know what the fix is or in what
magazine and month the fix appeared?

Windows [XP] remembers 400 folder settings. When that number is reached some settings aren't retained any longer. You can change this to 8000 by adding this edit to the registry.

Run this edit, then reset your preferred folder options:
