Could anyone tell me if its possible to remap F4 in Windows so that it
does what ALT+F4 normally does, ie closes the current application or
Window?

I use ALT+F4 regularly but it would be easier if I could just hit F4.
I've searched Google, but cant find any useful articles.

TIA,

Colin

AFAIK, you have to write your own keyboard drivers to over ride OS-level
functions.

If you don't like to create the registry entry manually, you can use
this little tool to help you:

But it will not solve Colin's problem. The scancode remapper can only
rearrange single keys, not combine a two-key combination into one.

Thanks for the tips, but I think I'll stick with what I have. I dont
follow what that Microsoft page is telling me and I dont want to break
it!

Cheers,

Colin
