Reloading XP Home with XP Pro discs?

I lost my hard drive in a recent move. We replaced the hard drive, but
whatever software I may have had is still packed away in storage, and not
about to be found any time soon. I can't find anybody else with XP Home
discs, just XP Pro. My computer is licensed for XP Home. Is it even
possible to load XP Home with my product key and someone else's XP Pro discs?
 
Nope, the Key is specific to the Edition. If you want to use it, you need to
find matching media disks. Standard MS disks are all the same per Edition,
but OEM disks on 'preinstalled' systems are even machine/hardware specific.
