Computer- running XP- crashed so I took it to a fix-it guy who loaded
all my data onto some CD's. Can anyone direct me to a site where I can
get some practical and EASY advice on step-by-step reinstalling it
all?
Thanks
John

What sort of data? Is this data your Word docs etc? Just put the CD in
the drive and copy the data to where you want it on your PC.

You may have to give some more information if the data isn't like Word docs.

Did the guy say what he used ? Is the info on the CD, stored in some
"restorable" form, or is it just a loose collection of all your
files ? If the stuff on the CD was archived in some manner, perhaps
there is an executable on there somewhere, that'll put everything
back for you. I'd ask the guy for details first, as to what he did.
We can't see your CD from here :-)

The data on the cd's can simply be copied over to the harddrive.
Just create a folder or folders, then copy it there.

Of course you will have to reinstall whatever applications you used to
create the data...
hopefully you still have the install CD's
