"I believe" that an XBox Core/Arcade system now costs LESS than a Wii
($199 vs $249), and for an additional $20 you can get a 20gig HD from
Microsoft making it the best value in gaming thus far. (Don't forget to
pick up a Component or HDMI cable)
It'll let you play GoW1 now and GoW2 when it comes out before the PC
gamers.
You'd be an idiot not to buy one or ask your grandma for one this
Holiday season.
My gamertag is Android8675309, I play occasional GoW/Halo, but mostly
Rock Band 2 when I'm not in Silent Hill or blasting hummies in Dead
Space.
Best investment in gaming, ever.
PC games don't sell for shit vs. the 360 console versions, so when you
say Microsoft would make a lot of money, they won't make as much as they
do on XBox Live Gold fees, Console Licencing fees, etc. A PC version
wouldn't bring in the XBox Live Fees, you can't charge for licensing,
and there are still servers to maintain to keep the game running. It
would not be a "big" source of income.
While I prefer the majority of my games on PC because they cost less,
usually, there are some games, like Rock Band and Silent Hill that just
don't impress me as much on the PC. (or simply are not available on PC)
Games like WoW and Warhammer however, well that's an easier decision.
My HDTV is also 42" vs. my 20" PC monitor. Where immersion is a big
deal, I opt for the XBox version. (Though I enjoy FPSs on PC more, for
mouse/keyboard options)
Oh, I also am a Viva Pinata master, so if you need a Fizzlybear or a
Blue Flutterscotch, I'm yer guardener. (OK, i'm not a master, but that
game is addictive. If you think I am joking I dare you to try the game
sometime VP1 is on PC, and VP2 on 360 is a huge upgrade from the
original. The game seems childish at first, but it really is a deep
game.
