Release date question?

Before I begin, I'm in Australia if it matters... But that probably won't
stop this being a stupid question.

I'm about to build a new PC and was going to throw MCE2005 on it (cos thats
what I'm building it for - a media centre) but now I'm reading that Vista's
release is iminent.

Did it end up being true that it was released to business on 30 Nov 06 as I
have read it was supposed to? And is it still supposed to be true that it is
to be release to the home users at the end of Jan 07?

I can wait a month or so if I have to.

Cheers,
Mr. Smith.

Yes, Vista was released to businesses today. And yes, I believe consumers
cannot get it until Jan 30, 2007.

I don't know the Aussie dates, but I'd assume for sure you can get it via
public means around January 30. You might want to contact MSFT Australia.

Here in the US some licenses began selling 11/30/06 = you go into Comp USA,
buy license>have access to burn iso from website.

The licenses that went on sale yesterday or for Vista RTM (Office or
upgrade to Enterprise Edition) or you
can get a lioense today in a bricks and mortar Comp USA to download and burn
the ISO for Office 2007 Plus Enterprise /Small Business Edition/Professional
plus.

Currently, no one is carrying out those cutsie little packages of Vista if
that's what you mean. But the public does have means to get the editions I
named this morning in the USA via Comp USA.

If only the business version of Vista came out today, then it does not
include Media Center.
