"Relaying not allowed"

I just signed up with a new ISP, road runner, and they
provide no support for Outlook. I think I have entered
all the account information properly. I am able to
receive email. But, when I send I receive an email from
the System Administrator. It says "Relaying not allowed"
followed by my desired recipient's email address.

Some technical points: At my request, my email is
forwarded to me from another address. This has been my
system for a long time, and usually does not present
problems. My "reply-to" address reflects the address
from which my mail is forwarded. Can this have anything
to do with the problem? Again, I had this exact setup
when I was with a different ISP, so I don't think the
problem stems from the forwarding.

I thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

I seem to have solved the problem, and I am posting here
in case anyone has a similar problem. You must check the
box for "my outgoing server requires authentication."
You can find this box under "more settings," "outgoing
server."
Thank you to anyone who took the time to try to help me!

Your ISP, like most, probably requires you to use THEIR outgoing mail
server from their connection. You can't make a connection from one ISP
& use another ISP's mail server.
