Well if you have important DATA on your harddrive would be
a good idea to back it up and then reformat the drive. However
if you do this process make sure that you understand that all data
and applcations will be gone.
No. But if you can get away with it (don't loose important stuff), do it.
Clean installs are more problem free. I believe you can format your drive as
you install, which will do this for you.
