If I reinstall xp WITHOUT reformatting the harddrive will is save all the
files I have on the hardrive such as pictures, music and such? Thanks

Reinstalling Windows over itself does not affect the contents of My
Documents. However, as a matter of practice, you should always backup
before reinstalling.

No it will not bother your pictures, music, or other files that you've
created. But it doesn't hurt to be on the safe side and make backup
copies of stuff the you want to keep. You never know what can happen...

It *should*, but it also should be a moot point - because you should be
taking regular backups of important data *anyway*. You hard drive might just
up and die ten seconds after you read this.
<bzzt - five points off, repetition of "should", I know.>
