Reinstalling XP

I want to install a new copy of XP (purchased) over a already installed
Windows XP.

If I try a Repair install will a new validation message come up? or does
someone have an other suggestion to put in the new Key and to validate?

Activation is no problem if you have a valid product key. Takes only a few
minutes.
Your concern should be if you have backed up your important data and
software you can not replace from other sources before performing a
procedure that has the potential of losing all your data like a botched
repair install.
