I accidently defragged my HD when it has less than 10 space. This courrupted many files including XP. Can I reinstall XP without loosing my data or is there another way to replace missing parts? Thanks

if you boot the XP CD you can do an "install repair" not repair. I've done
this a couple of times with great success.

Hi

Defrag should have given you an error message if there wasn't at least 15%
free disk space available and stopped. Did you see any error message?

It is one thing to see a warning and quite another to click the right thing. I clicked the wrong one and left the room. Just like life.

Bummer - I know how you feel :-((
