I am reinstalling XP Home Edition, I reformated the partitions on the hard
drive and then Windows started to install XP , but froze during install
with 36 minutes of install time remaining. Note that first I I got an alert
said "cannot install msls31.dll", I pressed Entered to bypass, then
received another alert window " cannot install file msjet 40 .dll"Should I
reboot and reinstall? What is the problem and how should I proceed.
Thanks for any information

Could be as simple as a dirty or scratched CD...
have a close look at it.

If the cd is good...then your CDROM may just plain be bad.

However...as a precaution you may want to run a RAM test...

and finally ,,,run a harddrive diagnostic
(you can get it from the HD mfg's website)

My guess is that it's one of the first three things though
