reinstalling windows

have tried to reinstall windows in my computor over topof
the first time when I type in my product no it says it is
the wrong one.Have done this several times with the same
result and therefore I can't go on any further.

Your XP CD key should be on a sticker on the side/back/front of your PC (in
the case of ready-made PCs like Dell or Gateway), or on the XP manual (in
the case of a store-bought copy).
It is a number of the form:

xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

If you're sure you've got the right number, and it still doesn't work, then
either contact the place you purchased the PC and/or XP from, or contact
Microsoft.
