I have recently upgraded my motherboard, processor and
video card. i thought it was about time for a full clear
out. i formatted my hard drives and installed windows 98
as i have done several times before, no problem. However
when i try to upgrade to XP it never follows through to
completion, it either freezes or it cannot copy/find
cetrain files or, the most recent event, it reports
an "Error 59AFF58h" and then aborts the install. I am
using the same CD I used the last couple of times to do a
complete reinstall and i have never had any problems in
the past.

Does anyone have any suggestions please?

I had a similar problem and I couldn't install any MS OS
on a brand new built system. Problem turned out to be
cheap memory. I took back the PC2100 memory and purchased
a good brand and installation went fine after that. Weird
problem I thought...
