reinstalling server for current DNS

I need to know if there is a way to put in a new hard
drive and reinstall all of the necessary software, but
import all of the DNS configurations that I had on the old
hard drive?

Please Help

Save the .DNS files to a floppy or other drive first. Better is to
replicate from your secondary DNS.

.... especially when one takes into account that the data might not have been
stored in ".DNS" files in the first place. (-:
