Reinstalling/Repairing WinXP

Guest

Can I reinstall Windows XP without losing the other programs I have
installed, or do I have to reinstall all other software after doing a
reinstall of Windows XP?

If I can reinstall XP without reinstalling the other programs, how do I
accomplish this?

Hi

What problem(s) have you got with XP that may need a reinstall?

Dependent on the type of XP CD you have, you can try a 'Repair' install.
Please have a look at the following article by Michael

Usually, but not always. It depends upon the true source of the
problem, i.e. hardware versus OS or driver corruption.

You should be able to perform a repair (a.k.a. in-place upgrade)
installation:

As always when undertaking such a significant change, back up any
important data before starting.

A repair install will leave your setting in place and freshen the Windows XP
code.
