Having trouble with my RAID 1 setup...
For whatever rason my RAID has gotten disabled. If I change the appropriate
settings in the BIOS I cannot get the computer to boot. I'm thinking I need
to reinstall the RAID drivers from NVidia. I have made an install floppy but
am unsure about how to go about it from there. I have a set of XP boot disks
and of course all the original CD's. How do I go about this?
Thanks!

Try tapping F8 on starting pc,select safe-mode w/ networking,enter xp as adm-
inistrator, reinstall software/drivers....Also,how did the BIOS settings get
altered,
& does the post BIOS RAID utility still run....If all is no,youre RAID/SATA
controller
is probably at fault....

When you first install Windows XP it ask for a RAID drivers disk at some
point ...so I figured I need to do that again. I guess thats what I'm really
asking.
If I enable RAID in the BIOS and then the appropriate drives after exiting
and saving I get a message "Detecting array..." and that as far as it gets. I
can't get to the RAID utility.

You have not provided enough information for us to assist you.

_IF_ you want your primary boot "disk" to be a RAID Array, then:
#1. Enable RAID in Motherboard BIOS
#2. Create RAID Array in RAID BIOS
#3. Set Motherboard BIOS boot order to:
1st BOOT device = CD-ROM
2nd BOOT device = RAID
#4. Boot from Windows CD and pres F6, at the appropriate time, to
install the RAID driver.

_IF_, on the other hand, you want your primary boot "disk" to be a _single_
drive, and your RAID Array to be a separate _data_ "drive", then:
#1. Set Motherboard BIOS boot order to:
1st BOOT device = CD-ROM
2nd BOOT device = [whatever your MoBo calls
non-RAID]
#2. Boot from Windows CD and install Windows
#3 Shut down computer
#4. Install hard drives to be used in RAID Array
#5. Start computer, Enable RAID in Motherboard BIOS
#6. Create RAID Array in RAID BIOS
#7. Enter Motherboard BIOS and ensure that RAID Array
is _NOT_ listed as a boot device
#8. Boot into Windows, install the RAID driver, enter Disk
Manager and activate/format the RAID "drive".
