Dell wants to charge me to walk me through a reinstall of
outlook 2000. They think it's corrupted. When trying to
insert clipart into the body of an email outlook is not
finding the clipart. A window pops up as normal to search
but nothing ever is found. Clip art in windows works
just fine. I have windows xp professional. HELP!!! I
rely on this feature a lot and it is a big issue not to
have it. No in-house tech person to help me.

First you need to backup any data you have in your mailbox and address book etc. This is obviously critical and if you don't know how, do a search in the knowlege base to get the info. If you are connecting to an Exchange server, for example, most of your data will be stored there - but any personal distribution lists or personal address books will be stored locally

Then make sure you still have your Office CD and unlock keys so you can reinstall

Next, to uninstall click on start then click on control panel and then add/remove programs then Microsoft Office 2000, then select change and then add/remove features, then set Outlook to not available (red X) and continue. This will uninstall Outlook

Finally, restore your data from backup. If your data is worth more than the service call to an experienced tech then I would recommend biting the bullet and calling in a certified tech. YMMV

Good Luck.

Oh, sorry - I left out the step of reinstalling Outlook. You can probably just insert your CD and it will autorun setup - or you can go back to the add/remove programs control panel. This time you want to set Outlook to "run all" from this computer

You might want to try the OL repair option first.
