I recently installed the trial version of Office 2007. After purchase of the
same product I uninstalled the trial, rebooted, then proceeded to install the
purchased version. The install completed successfully.
However, when I load any of the office products I get the pop up saying
"configuring Microsoft Word/Excel etc". This process takes about 5 minutes
(no exaggeration). This happens every time I start the application.
I've since tried to uninstall the product as well as remove registry entries
as per Knowledge Base article: KB928218 to no avail. What I have noticed is
that there are hundreds of registry keys in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT hive that
belong to office to which I have no permissions to view, modify or delete.
