reinstalling Microsoft Works 6.0

Hi.I am trying to reinstall works, and I get a popup saying that Microsoft Internet Explorer is running and needs to be closed before installation can continue. I use AOL to get online, so I am confused about Microsoft Internet Explorer Running. I dont know what to do or how to close it so that I can contine with getting Works back up and running

I was messing around with my MSN messenger, and it was setup to always run. So I changed the settings, restarted the PC and then was able to reinstall Works without the popup message about Microsoft Internet Explorer running!!!

Diana,

AOL, I believe, is a branded version of Internet Explorer. Close it
(yes, go offline too) and all other applications before installing
Works or any other application. You'll probably reboot after
installation, and the less running during installation the better.

BTW, posting articles with your email address in plain text is not a
good idea. That practice will get you lots of unwanted email, and
viruses in attachments. Learn to munge your email address.
