i have had ie 6 for a wile and recently it got tons of
errors neither i nor my internet provider knows how 2 fix.
If also got tons of toolbars that i never downloaded
(spywere) that neither Spybot nor Ad-ware know how 2
remove. The only solution is reinstalling. this seems as
if it would be easier and faster to resolve all these
problems. Can any one tell me where i can find a
reinstallation menu or even describe the process if you
feel like it.

thank you a lot

In case it matters:
i got WIN 98
cable connection ( from Comcast)
Also i have already tried to do the following: i
downloaded ie6 from www.microsoft.com and then ran the
instalation over the present ie6 and it did not resolve
any problems

Reinstalling probably won't fix it. Get ToolbarCop:
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/utils/ToolbarCop.exe

They are not just unwanted toolbars. An example of one
mistake i get is when i open a new window instead of
displaying the webpage it tells me that i'm not connected
to the internet ( even though i got Broband and all my
messengers and other programs that are using the internet
are connected). To make that window work i have to refresh
it. This is anoying and sometimes messes everything up. An
example. When you click on Check main link in MSN
messenger the new window that is suppost to display my
inbox is reporting connection problems and after i refresh
because of all the signing in on Microsoft Pasport i have
to resign in again. Then it displays me my options. so i
have to go to www.hotmail.com and sign in there. This
basicly made a simple and fast process extreamly lengthy
and anoying one. ALl i want to do is reinstall the
explorere. IS THAT POSSABLE?

Go to http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ , and download Hijack This.

Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save
Log" button.
Press that, and save the log somewhere.

NOTE: Most of what Hijack This lists will be harmless, or even required, so
do NOT fix anything
yet.

Next, go to http://forums.spywareinfo.com

Sign in, go to the Browser Hijacking/Spyware Removal section, press "new
topic", explain your
problem, and copy and
paste the contents of the Hijack This log into your new message. You'll get
expert assistance in
dealing with your problem, and I can assure you that you'll be rid of it in
no time at all.
