Reinstalling files

Steve

Sorry, I asked this before, but I'm still a bit confused. I want to
reinstall the Word help file from Office 2000. I insert the Office CD
setup.exe > Add or remove features.

The opening screen shows "Selected Features: 1280KB"

Not sure where this figure comes from, as I haven't yet selected
anything.

I click on Word > Help > Run from my computer. The 1280KB figure does
not change.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong - ?

Thanks!

The features selected are those you selected last time you installed (or IOW
those already installed).

Thanks Suzanne. How do I get it back to zero, then have it install
the Help files?

You don't really need to get it back to zero, since anything that's already
installed won't be reinstalled. If Help is already selected, though, you
might have to deselect it (to uninstall it), then reinstall, since even
though it's installed (or Setup thinks it is), it isn't working right.

I guess that's my first problem with the reinstall - how do I tell
what's already selected? I've clicked on all the + signs and expanded
everything, but I don't see any indication of which items are
selected. No little boxes with checks in them or whatever. Must be
something though, since it shows 1280KB as being selected.

Good question. Since I haven't actually had to rerun Setup, I was talking
through my hat. Perhaps someone who is more familiar with Setup issues can
help--if not here, then perhaps in microsoft.public.word.setup.networking.

Dunno, that's a pretty sparse group. Sure have had trouble getting
help with this one. Sigh.
