i reinstalled (new install) xp over old xp because of
viruses etc. well now when i boot my computer i have two
"windows xp home versions" to choose from. they are
identical in wording but when i highlite the latter, i get
my old xp os configuration. i only want thew new
configuration. i have a feeling that the old configuration
is eating up precious megabytes. how to i remove the first
os? thanx.

Delete the entry from the c:\boot.ini and then simpy remove the old Windows
directory.
Make sure not to remove the new one.
