Ok thanks DL- without the images my problem is-

How do I get the F: location as the default for outlook?

I have all this mail and addresses in this store after having reinstalled
office I do not know how to bring across all my previous Outlook mail records
(in F: ) into this new installation.

I added the new store folder or at least pointed to it as appears but it
still works off the C: which it sais is the default -

I'll assume F is a drive on your PC, not a network

Assuming by message store you mean the Outlook Data File, within OL,
File>Open>Data File.......browse to the 'old' data file - by default named
outlook.pst, but could be 'anyname'.pst, but not Archive.pst.
If this is the correct data file you would need to designate, in properties,
this as the default. Then copy stuff from the 'new' data file to this,
before finally closing it.

When you install OL, at some point it asks you whether to create a new data
file or use an existing, at this point you use the exising, by browsing to
it.

HI DL,
F is a drive on the PC and I know where the old outlook.pst file is - how do
I designate it as the default? in properties? If I reght click on the file
and click on preperties I do not see a 'default' option.

However - I have copied the file to the current New outlook location which
is C: doc and setting /../...etc so I have all my old mail (except my
contacts ?) but I wish to change the store location and have tried in the
Tools/options but even though I have added the F location to be the store,
outlok does not seem to want to accept this change and still keeps the
default C: - and I cannot delete the c: one.

With OL closed, you can manage data files either via the Outlook desktop
shortcut, or via the Mail applet in the Control Panel
NB If you are moving OL data files with Exporer, do not overwrite any
existing ones.

I am sorry DL - I do not wish to waste your time but I do not understand what
you are trying to tell me.

How may I change the store location of OL?

I have my mail on the default system OK whiich is the C: drive but I wish to
change the store to another drive.

I will understand if you do not wish to persue this with meas I am not very
skilled with OL.

Cheers
MIke

Its not the default installation path of Outlook, but the location of the
data files.
You cannot change the location/path of your data files within Outlook
You have to manually move your data files to the location of your choice,
then add them using either the Mail applet or Data File management from the
Outlook Desktop shortcut (rt click on it)
Obviously you would remove unwanted data files in Data Management, & set the
default store.
All this with Outlook closed.

The easiest way is to simply move your current default PST from one location
to another while Outlook is closed. When next you start Outlook, it will
complain it can't find the default folders and present to you a browser box
wherein you can browse t the new location of the PST and select it. Outlook
will finish opening and the PST will now be on another disk in another
folder.

If you have two PSTs and which to change from using one to using the other
as the delivery location, then in Outlook 2003 and earlier, click
Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next. Change the "Delivery new e-mail to the
following location" drop-down at the bottom left, click FInish, then stop
and restart Outlook. Alternatively, you can use the E-mail Accounts button
in the Mail applet in Control Panel to accomplish the same thing, as DL has
said a couple of times already. For Outlook 2007, instead of Tools>E-mail
Accounts, you click Tools>Account Settings and change the delivery location
on the Data Files tab or use Control Panel's Mail applet, as already
stated).
