I get kind of the same problem with my home machine, do you have AOL Instant
Messenger installed? I do, and everytime i launch OE, AOLIM becomes active
and then takes forever for it to become usable.

IIRC, there are articles on this topic in the Knowledge Base
http://support.microsoft.com/

Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 235300 addresses the issue in Win9x and
may be of some value. I've also found that it helps to 1) Cull the .wab 2)
Compress your files 3) Always empty the deleted items folder. Finally, if
you are running Norton AV, try turning off the scan email feature (which is
redundant anyway if you are set up with Auto-Protect enabled.

Good luck and HTH.

I am posting this here, because nobody is replying to the messages on a
Newsgroups for Outlook Express.

The Upgrade of my PC required reinstallation of Windows XP Pro.

Since then I am having problems with Outlook Express 6.
It takes approx. 1min. from the time I click on the icon to appearance of
the Outlook Express page, meanwhile I am staring at the blue, envelope size
Outlook Express 6 window.

There are also other faults.

I am being told that THE ONLY WAY to cure any problems with Outlook Express
6 is to start with a clean disc and re-install Windows XP Pro.

Will someone please confirm this? Having gone through one difficult
reinstallation, I do not want another if possible. There is very little on
this subject (that I can find) published by Microsoft.

Thank you in anticipation

Janus.
