My computer was sent in for repair and it came back with
Windows XP professional and I had the Home Edition, can I
reinstall my Home Edition safetly? Am new to computers
and I just want to have my Home Edition back in my
computer, any help will be useful to me. I also get a
message at start up that the msjava.dll was not found,
what is this? Thanks to all that can help me.

I tell you what I'd do. Call the repair shop, tell them what they did, have
them fix it at no charge to you, and then, find a new repair shop. Are you
sure they gave you the right pc back? Maybe they swithched yours with
someone else's.
Do you have the xp home disk?

Hi Joe,

You would have to format and start from scratch to go back to WinXP Home.
Did the shop tell you why they did this? Did they supply you with and XP Pro
disk as well?

Joe,
You have real problems. The only viable solution is to take the system
(computer) back to the shop, show them the problem, and ask that your XP
Home OS be restored FROM your XP CD. Like others I am guessing, but one of
two things must have happened:
a. You did not get the Computer back that you actually took to the shop.
CHECK!
b. The shop reinstalled Windows for what ever reason USING some one else's
system CD (either one owned by the shop OR some other individual. The point:
tis not your property.
