Reinstall XP Professional Question ?

Backround Information: When I turned on my computer the monitor was blank, I
couldn't fix anything without the monitor. I took the tower to a repair shop,
they reinstalled XP Pro. Now, when I put my XP
disk in, I receive the following message:
Setup cannot continue because the version of Windows on your computer is
newer than the version on the CD. Now, when I purchased
my copy of XP Pro, it had SP1 installed (I quess). Later, I purchased SP2
directly from Microsoft, I installed SP2 on this computer. Here are my
Questions:
1) Am I receiving this message because I have SP2 installed?
2) If question 1 is true, what procedure do I need to do if I need to use my
disk in the future?
3) Is it possible to uninstall SP2?
thanks for your time

Hi mavic517,

Yes, you are receiving that message because SP2 is installed on the computer
and is not integrated in the install CD that you are using. You could create
a slipstreamed install CD by following the instructions here:
http://www.theeldergeek.com/slipstreamed_xpsp2_cd.htm
(or do a web search for slipstreaming instructions, as plenty of them
abound!)
Also, many people seem pleased with having used autostreamer to slipstream:
