Reinstall Winmail????

Go to Control Panel | Default Programs and make WinMail default.

You can't uninstall or reinstall it, as its part of the OS.

You can go to Start | Search and type

SFC /Scannow

Hi Steve!!
Sorry lost my patience with this program.

Happened yesterday........how do I make the "from field" show who sent mail
in Newsgroups.
In columns it is ticked but still shows a blank from field??? Before the 28
th of March it was fine.
Running Vista Ultimate 64 all updates applied.I have also tried to reset the
columns "fields"
Winmail does not seem to be able to hold settings. I doubled clicked on the
from field in the reading area in the newsgroups & the from field from then
on is non existent. I think Winmail has some bugs. I also find the fonts in
the mail reading pane change to whatever with each mail I read. Running
display at 1650 X 1050. I have tried the font settings in Winmail many times
both in "View "
and "tools options read ". Settings either do Not change or change to
another size when I click on another e-mail.
This was a clean install. The fonts have never worked properly since day
one. The from field just disappeared on the 28th of Mar.
I opened Winmail & the from field was blank. It is the only"field" that does
not work. I could see this happening in a beta,but this should not be
happening in Vista Ultimate 64 (6000).

Hi Steve!

I ran the betas for over a year on this same computer & did not have either
of these problems.
I have not changed any hardware since running the betas.
 
Have you thought about restoring your computer to a date prior
to March 28th?
Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore.

Not a option as I duel boot & loose restore points everyday. I make an image
file backup every 15 days or so with Acronis. Wanted to try & fix & find out
why it happened. If I could not or did not find an answer then I would
restore using Image backup.Thanks for your reply though.....
 
Seems problems are fixed.
I changed the text size & encoding under "View" in Winmail & matched those
settings in "Tools - Options-Read -Fonts so both are set the same. (for some
reason the encoding & size were different). Then I changed the screen
resolution to 1280x1024. I sat & waited for new messages to come in in the
newsgroups. Volia!!!! the messages started coming in with the from "field "
occupied with names again. Doing this also fixed the fonts changing randomly
in the reading pane in mail. I then changed the screen resolution back to
1680x1024 & everything is working fine. This is all very strange,but the
setting in Winmail for the encoding has changed back in Views it is at
Western European (ISO) & in Tools-options-Read- Fonts it is set at Western
European & is the default. I had both set as Western European. The "Views"
encoding has changed. Other than that things are functioning properly in
Winmail again. Whewwwwwwww!!! LOL! Is it a video driver problem??? or a
problem with Winmail not holding settings???
