I N EED SOME HELP!!! My computer gave me the blue screen of death yesterday
and I tried everything in my power to get it going - I was not able to get
IE working for starters, then every once in a while I would get the blue
screen iwth locked pages or something...so eventually I tried a reinstall -
ok - I got 1/3 of the way thru and then that gave me the blue screen - so I
gave up.

took it to the computer doctor and he was able to ghost my files so that I
can save them - and he put a new hard drive in and tried to reinstall
windows xp pro on top of that - everything is working great - EXCEPT - the
dialup networking is greyed out - he tried several times and several things
to get it to work, but no luck - so what he suggests is that I back off all
my files and then bring it back in so that he can then do a clean install of
windows xp....my question ... can I do that myself...and if so ... how ?? OR
is there a way to get the dial up working????

thanks so much!!!!
and Happy Thanksgiving!

Pam

You need to set the bios for a boot from the cd and then stick your Windows
XP cd in the drive and reboot. The installer is self explanatory. You can
format and install from there. This will do a clean install for you.
