Go to Symantec site and search RNAV-utility. It will clean your
machine from NAV-remnants. After that you can reinstall.

can i get another full year after that?

I think not withn the newer versions of NAV. The older ones gave a
full year extra every time after running MS's Regcleaner utility.

No need to run any reg cleaner, Jari. It is (was) entirely a matter of
replacing catalog.liveupdate/catalog.livesubscribe. There's even a hacked
catalog.livesubscribe that sets subs to year 2029 (though LiveUpdate now
resets it to one year's worth).

Not if you set catalog.livesubscribe to read only. Then it will work to
2029, but God help you if your still using it then, or as far as that goes,
even using it now. Get F-Prot for Windows or Nod32.

I knew that but I didn't dare to tell it here. Everyone seems to know
it. Still I don't use Norton.

It's an amusing, but pointless, hack. If you ever have to re-install NAV you
find out that you don't need to buy subscriptions anyway. It all makes me
think Symantec don't care what people with even a modicum of ability know,
since they make good money from the naive.

where is catalog.livesubscribe ??

Jari, I run Regcleaner from MS and my subscription didn't increase. I am
using Norton SystemWorks 2002 Pro.
Perhaps it works on earlier versions.
