Could have tacked this on to the other thread but JIC the question might
help someone else.

After reading the KB and Michael Steven's article I may not need a repair
install after all. Other than IE7 everything 'seems' to be working.

I tried the "reset" method of repairing IE7 and didn't work.

How can I reinstall? If I uninstall IE7 can I still get to Windows Update
or would I have to install another browser?

Been browsing a lot of articles but they all seem to reference a repair
install

Thanx again for the help -

Maybe I solved my problem myself - found the download site for IE7 and
downloaded the installer. When I get home I'll try uninstalling IE7 and
reinstalling using the installer. Since my internet connection works fine I
shouldn't have a problem. If this saves me a repair install I'll be a happy
camper.

You need to note that if you have installed Service Pack 3 after
having IE 7 installed, you will not be allowed to uninstall IE7.

Do you have SP3 Installed?

That should be:

Un-install SP3
Un-install IE7
Install SP3
Install IE7

This way, IE 7 will be able to be un-installed at any other time.
