reinsatll of xp

i have had xp for a while now and my hard drive is full i
was looking to reinstall xp over the copy i have and
start a fresh.i do not have anything that i need to keep
i have all my drivers and stuff on disk i was just
looking for instructions on how to go about it,

i tried putting the xp cd in thought it might give me the
option to reinstakl but no joy any help thanks.
 
Hi,

You do realize that by reinstalling you will also need to reinstall all of
the updates?

If the only problem you have is that the disk is full, why not just
uninstall unused programs, delete files that are no longer needed, and make
some room for yourself? Why on earth would you want to have to reinstall all
the updates and your preferred software just because the hard drive is full?
Hard drives are cheap, just add one to the system if space is the problem.

*If* you really want to start clean, boot the WinXP CD, start the installer.
At the beginning of setup, remove the existing system partition, then create
a new one. Format, then proveed with installing.

What kind of XP CD have you got - Retail OEM etc? What happened when you tried the CD - any message(s) seen? The following article will show you how to 'clean' install XP, if you have an appropriate CD:
