Hello,

When I conduct a regression, I would like the chart to display the
observation name for each data point. Not sure how to do this, or if it's
possible. Chart Options - data lables - checking series name, gives me the
same name for each observation which is not what I want.

Let me know if you have any ideas - thx.

I don’t know what you mean by, “conduct a regressionâ€.

Do you mean a Line chart?

Do you want to add, for example, numbers, on the line of that chart?

If you do take the following action in EXCEL 2007:-

Click the line on the chart (this will cause it to be highlighted).

Chart Tools / Layout / Labels group / Data Labels / Above

Numbers (for example) will now appear above each point on the line in the
chart.

If my comments have helped please hit Yes.

Thanks.

The chart is a scatter plot with a line of best fit. Each data point is
considered an observation, and I would like the observation names to be
displayed on the chart. I am using excel 2003
