I want to know what the correct registry value keys for enabling and viewing
the cd-rom drive are. I also want to know the exact locations of these keys.

Due to some enforced group policy on our domain I've lost these settings on
me PC and wish to restore them.

Please see your Administrator.
IT departments have funny ways of looking at things.

IT mottos
1. Control,Control,Control
2. Users need only what we think they need. If we didn't give it to them,
they don't need it.
3. Additional User capability increases IT support complexity, and is to be
discouraged.
4. Users outside the IT department with administrator privileges are to be
downgraded at the earliest opportunity, or transferred to the IT department.
An Exception may occur when the user is senior to the IT department
manager/director. In this case downgrading from administrator privilege is
accomplished by replacing the users system with a brand new system.
Engineers are generally not considered to be eligible for transfer to the IT
department. (They cost too much, and fix problems in ways that are not in
conformance with IT department goals.)

Since the IT department is an overhead department, with a very tight budget,
it's likely that a transfer in must be balanced by a transfer out. Boat
rockers are the most likely choice for transfer out. Exceptions can be made
to the transfer out policy if the users department consents to keeping the
user on their payroll account. Managers are encouraged to seriously consider
such transfers when the user remains on the previous departments payroll
account )

(Such users may have a severe impact on IT department longevity if not
transferred to the IT department. Once they are transferred to the IT
department payroll, seniority carried from the old department is secondary
to the seniority (none) in the IT department. This allows IT management to
layoff individuals as desired.
