I have been using registry seeker and i'm very happy with it. The
other day I decided to download a shareware registry program just to
see and compare what the 2 would find. I downloaded Complete Registry
Cleaner..installed it and ran it..it picked 500+ invalid
entries...Registry seeker picked up 28...

Is the shareware program not working properly and picking up entries
that are valid but marking them as invalid?..Or is registry seeker not
a good enough program?....

If I were you, I would be cautious about deleting those 500+
supposedly invalid registry entries, unless you use a programme such
as ERUNT.EXE to back up your registry files first..........I haven't
tried Complete Registry Cleaner, but in my experience RegSeeker is
safe, while others I've tried can cause catastrophic problems.

That is my experience too. In the past I have used registry cleaners
(EasyCleaner 1.x and another one), but indeed with catastrophic
consequences. Regseeker has the only cleaner I have tried that cleans the
registry without damaging it.

The registry, windows version of the little red button.

12MB registry storage cost = 1 cent
Maximum storage saving < 1 cent
Benefit of operation per day 0 to ? cents

User time to dl and run registry cleaner = ?? cents

Cost to remedy errors from clean operation = ?? cents to ???? cents

payback period of successful operation > ?? days
