It has come to my attention, through blue screen errors, that my Registry has a problem. I have a program called System Mechanic, that will clean the System Registry. Everytime I try to clean the Registry, my system crashes. I recently downloaded another program called Registry Mechanic, I ran the tests and it found some 500 Registry problems with the programs Deep Registry Scan. To clean or fix these problems I have to register/buy the program. Also, when I closed this program, my system crashed, the exact same way as before with System Mechanic. My question is, should I spend the money on this program or should I do a Repair Install of Windows XP? And if I do a repair install of XP what does that do exactly? Any help would be appreciated.
