Got a system here that has had some bad virus's and spyware. Anyway got rid
of them a few other problems.

One problem left and that is with the registry, Seems to be locked! Tweaknow
finds a few problems and deletes them but they are still there and so on etc.
Reinstalled windows xp pro over the top and same problem.

But now I can not install Service Pack 2, it gets half way through and when
it says writing registry etc, it comes up with a error and put everything
back the way it was.

Please help.

Best Regards

Panda_man : If these were your onliest words , everything would have been

Panda_man : This is very bad and you really shouldn't do so.

Panda_man : Your computer hasn't been fully cleaned or the infection has
messed up things so you can do NOTHING now as you have installed new over the
old broken one.

Reinstall Windows and start everything in clean environment. Protect well
that computer and learn the user who is going to use it to also protect it .

If you need information how to reinstall Windows XP , please read this
conversation between me and another user .It shows steps needed to install
Windows and important moments after that to avoid being infected again .

Carey,
two of the adminstrator accounts on my PC appear to have lost their
privilages to change the Registry. The main Administrator accounts still
works. Will your suggested fix work to restore those privilages? Can I
somehow align my other administrator accounts security settings with the main
Administrator account?
