I want to write a file to chage some of my XP Pro settings. I have the need
to switch settngs back and forth and want to create a couple files.
Where can I find the registry entry that sets the computer name(including
primary DNS suffix)??
Where can I find the registry entry that sets the domain and/or workgrup
name???
Where can I find the registry entry that sets the login options?? (ie. use
welcome screen, use fast user switching, use ctrl-alt-del)
Thanks

Microsoft has published books on the registry and its settings. Check with
your local bookstore.

Sorry, but this is typically the type of answer that wastes bandwidth.

You can solve this type of problem by search the registry: set for
instance the computer name to a very unique name (to avoid find myriads
of useless entries) and then search the registry for this name. Same for
workgroup names and other stuff that users can normally set. For more
special entries, ask a very specific question in the appropriate NG.
Microsoft has a number of NG dedicated to registry questions.

I count two: registry.windowsnt and registry.windows2000. Which of
those do you recommend for Windows XP registry questions?
I hear the underlying sarcasm =:) ... I was surprised too that you have
to understand german to get a Registry NG dedicated to XP. Still,
browsing the 2 you mentionned will probably yield interesting
information. Since I never use either, my advice would be ... to check both.
