What registry key tracks where the Favorites folder is located ?

Thanks,

I love saving registry keys and values as Favorites. But unfortunately, they don't persist from one regedit session to another. They are deleted every time you close regedit. Is there any way to make them persist and save in the registry? and why would Microsoft design it that way (no persistence)?
