About 3 months ago, my computer had a few virus' located and it led to a ton of spyware and adware
never ending pop-ups, and a ton of problems. After downloading ad-aware 6 and some other helpful and not so helpful products, I was led to the registry to some files which I do not kow the names to and I had accidentally deleted 1 or 2 which I don't think I was supposed to touch

Is there a way with out having to re-install xp via disk(deu to damaged disk) which I can repair and or replace the default settings in the registry?

The problem I'm having is when I start up the computer, it takes about 4-5 minutes to show the icons and let me use programs. Internet Explorer is pretty slow but I'm not sure if that is part of the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stop what you are doing. Go to the store. And get Norton.
Trust Me. Norton SystemWorks and Norton AntiVirus. They
are the best error fixers and virus scanners that I know
of. I have tried McAffe's products but was never
satisfied with their work. Buy Norton.

MY ASS! Norton didn't catch,or detect the trojans I
had.Figured something was wrong,if you need antivirus try
CA's EZ-AV It's free for microsoft users,it's on their
update website under secure your computer,or get it from
here,1 year free----------------------------------
http://www.my-etrust.com/microsoft/
AS far as missing registry,If your systems running, don't
mess with it!Try that etrust,it found 4 trojan's that
plaqued my system.Hopefully, you only deleated part of
something you don't use.
