Excuse me,

i'm using a outlook 2000. Under Tools > Options > Mail. there is a button
Use "word editor as a text editor".

it can be used before. but currently, it's disabled and dim. i can't change
its options. how can i make it active undim and enable it. i know it may
need to change the registry.

Many Thanks,

Do you have Word 2000 installed? Other versions of Word won't work as
e-mail editor for Outlook 2000.

Outlook [version] needs to find the same Word [version]. Obviously if
Outlook will be calling Word to do the composing then it needs to find
Word's libraries. Since feature sets must be compatible between Outlook
and Word, the versions must match.

Microsoft provides damn little info regarding their Works product.
Their products page for Works has a short list of new feature in version
2004 of Works. It says it includes a version of Word but since Word is
not itself at version 2004 then it's some other unspecified version of
Works.

If Outlook 2002 was installed last, have you tried a reinstall of Works
2000? Have you tried running the Detect and Repair entry under the Help
menu in Outlook?
