I have read a lot about modifying the Registry when there
are problems. Just how do you go about doing that? Thanks

If you have to ask...... :-)

Note: it is always a good idea to backup your registry before making any
changes to it. It can be intimidating to a new user, and there is always the
possibility of changing or deleting a critical setting causing you to have
to reinstall the whole operating system. It's much better to be safe than
sorry! So if you don't **KNOW what you're doing.... Keep Out!** You can
render your machine totally inoperable with one false move.

And so forth.................

If one read your post rather quickly, it could be mis-read. Then one might
possibly see this:

It could happen. Beware!
