Hi,

Does anyone out there know of a way to view the
registry files (specifically software) that reside in the
%systemroot%\repair folder without restoring them? We
have tried to do a load hive from regedt32 but get the
message

'Registry editor could not load the key. The file is not
a valid registry file'.

We tried it on the originating machine and then on
other machines.
Failing that, can we restore the registry to a machine
other than the one it came from?
Thanks in advance.

This article may help.
