Second post. Registry editor on a 2000 Server will open,
and then close after about 10 seconds. Computer scans
virus free via AVG, Symantec, and CAI. No apparent app
conflict. Help?

I strongly recommend another check
NAV and McAfee missed this one for me and it was found by an online scan by
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp
We found agobot/gaobot. If infectet too early, it will cause NAV to not be
able to update virus definitions, thereby keeping the machine from
detecting.

A real beast to get rid of.
