I want to give full control permissions to a group of computers ( XP pro-SP1)
in an OU in AD environment (win2k mix) using
regedit->Local-machine->software->application S/w.
How can I implement this using regisrty based GPOs and what would be the
syntax?

Rajeev

Hello Rajeev,

You can use Registry and enter a Key you want to pre define and modify the
security for. You find the setting at Computer Configuration\Windows
Settings\Security Settings\Registry

Hi Chris

Thanks. When I traverse this path, I see the registry icon with a lock
symbol. I can not open. What could be the reason?

OOps, sorry, I made a mistake. Now I know what to do. Thanks Chris.
However I have a question. How can I give printer driver installtion right
to pwr users using group policy.

Rajeev

Rajeev,

Members of the Power Users local group can - by default - install Printer
Drivers. This should not be an issue!

Cary
